Resizing window of Pidgin

Is it possible in Pidgin setup resizing of main window according to
number of contacts ?

Today I have recognized Pidgin has some problems with status. After 2
minutes (I setup) it should change to idle but it doesn't work even I
have the same configuration. Any idea why it happens ?
