Ticket # 6172 : Google Talk connect failure - 405: Not Allowed

I would like to see if I can be of any assistance, as I am having this
same problem (and I am an IT administrator). Users on our corporate
network are able to use the gtalk application to chat, but I am unable
to use the pidgin application to connect to googletalk. We are using
DNS redirection to send IM communications through a gateway server,
which is the L7 Enterprise product from Akonix, now owned by Quest
Software and called Policy Authority for Unified Communications. I have
verified that the gtalk application traffic is being sent through the IM
gateway and is working correctly, but the pidgin client is not
performing this same functionality. Is there anything I can do to help
find a resolution to this issue?

Thanks,

David Redmond
