Special Buddy Sound Settings

Thanks for a great program!  And thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide on this:
Is it possible to set special sounds - or to turn all sounds off - for a specific buddy?  If this is clearly spelled out somewhere, please forgive me.  I did hunt for it but may have missed it.
