Pidgin problem

My computer crashed and I installed a new operating system and now my pidgin will not allow me to enable my account to chat. I opened the debug window and it found an error the second time I ran it the error message is as follows ( (17:55:56) jabber: XML parser error for JabberStream 019268E8: Domain 1, code 5, level 3: Extra content at the end of the document )
Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thank you sincerly....Kevin
