Keep an eye out for it....I haven't installed any other piece of software in the last couple days or done anything out of the ordinary.

I'm not aware of any way to recover the lost registry entries without a recent copy of a registry backup...

We haven't had any other reports of this and the installer code hasn't
changed in quite some time.

I suspect that what you're seeing isn't related to Pidgin at all.

Unfortunately, there isn't much that I can suggest apart from trying
to use System Restore if you have that enabled.
