Pidgin won't enable my AIM account

I am getting the following error message when I try to enable my AIM account. 

Account disabled. Received unexpected response from http://api.oscar.aol.com/aim/startOSCARSession: useTLS=1 is not allowed for non secure requests.

My Yahoo IM enables fine. Any thoughts? Help!
