NO SOUNDS. Pidgin went silent on my N900

Hello,
I'm using pidgin messenger on my nokia n900 with maemo(linux)
 now for 7 months...never had any problems and i was very
happy with it. But i just got an update for it so i installed it...
But after installing it i have no sounds anymore...not when
a budy is coming online or when somebody starts a chat with me..
No sounds at all....
And i havent changed anything in my preferences...so thats kinda strange!
Realy hope you can help me out becoz i like to get my sounds back!!!
