Pounces in IRC aren't triggered

Hi all,

while pounces work nicely on several other IM protocols with Pidgin
2.6.5/Ubuntu for me, none of them is triggered on IRC. I've configured a
pounce using the "accountname at irc.freenode.net (IRC)" in the "Account:"
field, and have entered a chat room participant's nick into the "Buddy
name:" field. Then I checked every single check box under "Pounce when
Buddy..." and checked "Execute a command" and entered the full path to
a script there (which works fine on other protocols). Also, "Recurring"
is checked.

Is there a known issue with IRC and pounces or am I doing something
wrong? Any help appreciated.
