Msn messanger

For a year or so I had been using Pidgin with Msn with no problems and then one day out of no where this message appeared   "our protocol isn't supported by the server" Wondering how i go about updating or debugging this problem. 

I am running Mozilla Firefox by the way.

Any input or help is much appreciated
