There is nothing useful here for determining a proxy related problem;
your debug log doesn't contain an attempt to connect to yahoo.

However, the following line indicates that there is something wrong
with the SSL configuration (which is now necessary for yahoo).  Did
you get a "SSL support unavailable" message?
