encryption

Hello, i've downloaded and installed pidgin, downloaded and install 
pidgin-encryption.  I'm having trouble configuring encryption now.  I restarted 
pidgin as stated, and i find no place to enable encryption under prefs or 
plug-ins, what am i doing wrong?  Please advise.
