PROXY AND CONNECTION ERROR IN UBUNTU

Dear Sir,

I am using Pidgin from a long time with out any proxy server. but recently
my college management put a proxy network which is 10.20.3.7 with 3128 port
how to assing this proxy to Pidgin. in Pidgin preferences it is saying that
configure proxy in gnome preferences. and I changed network proxy in my
system. and again it is saying "HTTP proxy connection error 503" .

Please help me
