2.7 could not install (or reuse) GTK, cannot find libatk-1.0-0.dll

As soon as I installed 2.7, I got an error message saying that the GTK could
not be installed. When I tried canceling, the installation continued anyway.
Now, whenever I try to run Pidgin, I get two messages back-to-back: the
first says that libatk-1.0-0.dll cannot be found, then that the GTK was not
installed correctly.

Help!
