There is a plugin called “Release Notification.” Go to Tools->Plugins and uncheck the corresponding box.

Subject: How to stop the nag to upgrade

I am using an old version (2.5.8) because I had problems with early versions of 2.6. I see that 2.7.0 is out but that 2.7.1 will be out in a few weeks, so I will wait until then before upgrading.

However, can anyone please tell me how to stop Pidgin asking me to upgrade every time I start it (under Windows 7 64 bit) and for me to continually having to press 'later' when I really want to say, 'never' i.e. 'Thank you for the information but stop reminding me as I will update when I want to and don't want reminders every time I log on'?

Many thanks
