Pidgin issue/problem/glitch

Hello,

When I use my mobil aim on my blackberry w verizon and speak with my only friend who uses pidgin it displays my txt in mandarin 80% of the time. Sometimes 50% but will switch off and on. Is this a known issue and what can he do about this. He uses pidgin on his desktop and it only occurs when I speak to him from my mobile im it never does this with anyone else
