Invalid certificate

This worked for me:

Go to ' extra > certificate ' 

Remove the following certificates: (you can backup first using the ' save'
option if you want to)

ows.messenger.msn.com
login.live.com
*.contacts.msn.com

Shutdown Pidgin. Restart pidgin and everything should be working again.
Missing certificates will be loaded automatically.
