Compatibility issue with Windows IME

Hello,

I have a new problem with the program; whenever I type Japanese
characters, all I can see are squares. My contacts can see the
characters, though. This is only on Windows XP Professional, I do not
have this problem on Vista. This is also new, that did not use to
happen on previous versions of Pidgin. Enabling Windows IME in the
Input Method does nothing as well.

I have tried reinstalling the program from scratch, to no avail.
