This looks like something you should file a ticket for
(http://d.pidgin.im/newticket).

You'll want to (with 2.7.3) get a new debug log to attach to that
ticket from a pidgin instance launched with the "PURPLE_VERBOSE_DEBUG"
environment variable set.
