A previous report of this was caused by a broken pidgin portable
installation.  You should have a "sasl2" subdirectory in the same
directory as libpurple.dll and a saslPLAIN.dll in the sasl2 directory
- if you don't, you have the same broken installation and should
report the issue to the pidgin portable folks.
