Sending Text Messages (SMS) Using Pidgin

I searched the knowledge base and found a suggestion to RIGHT CLICK the Buddy List name and send to the mobile device that way.  I don't see that option.  Sending a message to the phone number does not seem to work either.  I'm using the latest distribution of Ubuntu.
