problem with "offline" installation

... the offline installer does not exist... the downloader responds 
"select another file..."

... meanwhile, the failed 2.7.3 installation attempt left the pre-existing 
client unusable... .so I'll have to look for an older rev and re-install 
it instead.

Please advise.
