invisibility

Is there a way to be invisible AND still have buddy pounces generated? I
sometimes like being invisible to get work done, but if certain friends come
online, I would like to be notified. Is this possible?

I found this XMPP code (below) to enable invisibility in Pidgin, but when I
use it, my buddy pounces no longer work. Is there a way to be invisible and
have buddy pounces work?
