New user is stuck

Hi,

 

I've just tried to set up Pidgin and have run into trouble. The main thing
I've found with the help is that it's not helpful - it's far too technical
and tends to concentrate on things that have gone wrong in the past rather
than a good, simple guide to how to get going.

 

My specific question at this time is that I've added myself and a couple of
other users. One use is on gmail like me and the status shows "Subscription:
Both" but the other is on Yahoo and the status shows "Subscription: None (To
Pending). What does this mean and what can I do about contacting the second
user?
