MSN problem - no errors, but all MSN buddies show offline, they see me as offline.

Current version of pidgin, win7.

Tried default install over previous version (.7).  Uninstalled, 
reinstalled, no joy.  Downloaded the 2 cert files, no joy.  Downloaded 
the omega, file, no joy.

Suggestions?
