Please keep your replies on the list.

Open Pidgin and check out Help -> About. If that says 2.7.9, then you
have Pidgin 2.7.9. If you have Pidgin 2.7.9, then the issue isn't with
the PPA, and I don't know enough about ICQ to help you further.
