Plugin/Feature Request

I always want to know the status of ONE buddy. It seems an easy way would be to 
have the tray icon reflect THEIR status rather than my own.
Not being a programmer I can't write my own plugin. Does anyone know how I might 
request such a feature, or convince some kind sole to create a third party 
plugin for this?
