Help Setting up Facebook & Google Chat Accounts

I am new to Pidgin and I am having trouble setting up my Facebook and Google
chat accounts.  I put my username, my password, but I did not put a resource
because I do not know what this is.  Is this what is causing my problem?
What is the proper way to set up these types of accounts? The error message
I get is Account not Enabled, but when I select Re-Enable nothing happens.

Please help!
