I don't know about quickweb, but I'm disappointed to hear that it
ships with a known buggy and security-vulnerable version of Pidgin,
and claims to be secure.  2.5.2 is over a 18 months old at this point.

MSN is known to not work for almost all users in versions prior to
somewhere in the 2.6 or 2.7s.  The fix for the problem you have is to
upgrade.
