While we certainly appreciate being told that you are working on this and
your desire to get your information correct, etc. and would very much
appreciate being told when said review goes live; pidgin isn't a company
and doesn't have the same concerns/issues/expectations/etc. as a company.

pidgin is an IM client with support for operating on multiple
protocols/networks at the same time.

I don't know that I see it offering anything specifically helpful for
"online students" as opposed to what it offers to anyone else (that has a
need to communicate with people via IM).

As compared to the various official clients the fact that pidgin supports
plugins is a nice thing to have, but again that isn't extra helpful to
your userbase.

No. See above about pidgin not being a company.

I don't even know if we have a place to list external references to pidgin
on the wiki (and I'm not sure that'd be a maintainable list even if we
wanted to start it).
