Using pidgin with googletalk, not recognizing accounts

Hi - we just started using pidgin for our sales group with googletalk.
we're having trouble getting pidgin to recognize the googletalk accounts -
sometimes it works, then it loses the account again. The error message is
usually "not enabled".  We keep enabling the accounts, but no luck. they
are working in google. does this sound familiar to anyone? Tnx
