Message too long

Hey Users,
i´m having a problem sening big messages. when i´m writing a message and sending it to my buddys, pidging says: "message to long." ok, but: my written message is gone! where can i find it? it was realy long and i can´t write it again :( is this a bug? perhaps the message could be placed in the buddys log, so i can copy it and send it in 2 or 3 steps.
