cannot access IM buddies!!

I have looked every place I can think of and there is no "(Re-)Request authorization" menu item. Please advise. 

All of my AOL IM buddies are still not showing up as online.....but they are online. I did create an AOL account thinking that would help but it has not.

It's possible that the buddy authorization in your roster (which is
stored on the server) has gotten somehow messed up.

If you right-click on one of these buddies in your buddy list, is
there a  "(Re-)Request authorization" menu item? If so, using that may
fix the problem you're seeing.
