trying to use jabber

Hello,

I need to use jabber for work. I downloaded pidgin on my PC, but when I go
to create an IM account, Jabber is not listed in the drop down menu and I
can't figure out how to register for jabber.

Any suggestions?

 ( I have Adium on my mac and didn't have any problems getting to jabber)
