Can't remove group on XMPP

I am running 2.10.0 on Windows 7, logged in via XMPP.  I have a group called "Manager and Peers" that I created.  If I try to move contacts to another group or try to delete this group, changes are not saved and "Manager and Peers" shows back up once I restart Pidgin.  The changes are not being saved.
