Adding an Account

Hi,
I have a question regarding adding a Gmail account to Pidgin that is
moderated by my school. The email client runs through Gmail, but is of the
form "emailaddress at myschool.edu". "emailaddress at gmail.com" is a different
email address, so I cannot use gmail.com as the domain for the account.
myschool.edu is not a valid domain, according to Pidgin. Is there a way to
add this account, or is that just not an option?
