Trouble w Google Talk _ two-step authorization

We use Pidgin at work and have been trying (unsuccessfully) to setup my
Google chat/talk account.  I use two-factor authentication and think that
may be the issue.  I have entered the Application Specific password I
generated for Pidgin, but no luck.  I continue to get a "Unable to connect"
error.  Hope you can help
