Pidgin can no longer connect through proxy

So I'm not sure what the change was. I use an ssh tunnel (socks5) at
work to proxy personal traffic through my home internet connection. I
came into work one morning and pidgin is suddenly no longer able to
connect to it.

Thunderbird and Chrome are still connecting like always, with no issues,
just not pidgin.

I've reinstalled pidgin with no plugins activated and the problem persists.

Any suggestions as to what the problem might be?
