failure to connect to google ac

Hi,

I'm completely new to IM so don't know very much about setting it up.  I
installed without difficulty  2.10.7 with otr plugin

Over the past couple of weeks, off and on, I've tried to connect to a google
account.  The account works fine in FireFox but Pidgin gives me an 'Unable to
connect' message.

I've copied a part of the Help/Debug window log and this seems to indicate
timeouts are occuring.  I have tried at different times of day but it's always
the same.

Could someone comment on the following log extract and suggest any change I need
to make ?
