A slight concern(sending again because unsure if received)

So... I uninstalled the old Pidgin because of a certificate issue with AIM. 

Then, I installed a newer version of Pidgin and strangely enough, it remembered my AIM name. 

Is this normal? I completely uninstalled the old version from the computer and then installed the newer version and it remembered my AIM name and all.

Please respond ASAP.
