Yahoo video and audio calls

I am unable to initiate or receive video calls when using Pidgin on my 
Yahoo IM account. When I start a new chat and then go to Conversation > 
Media all of the options for video or audio are greyed out.

I have used gstreamer-properties to try and configure my webcam but it 
seems to have made no difference. When I ran gstreamer-properties and 
pressed the test button the camera worked fine and it works in other 
applications such as Skype.

Can anyone help please?
