Pidgin Crashes

Hello,

  We here at the University of Tennessee at Martin use pidgin for our library's reference desk  online help chat,
but starting last Friday the 24th whenever we received a message pidgin would just crash as soon as we opened
the chat box. Do you have any ideas or advice as to what we can do to fix this problem?
