Character limit on passwords?

Hi there,

I'm trying to add a gmail account to my (newly downloaded) Pidgin, but I'm
unable to enter my full password due to the character limit. Gmail does not
have a character limit on passwords. Can the limit be removed, or will I
need to change all of my passwords to use Pidgin? As a sidenote, I'm sure
my password is longer than most--it's actually more of a pass-phrase...)
