Facebook option without xmpp

I am using pidgin 2.10.11 with Ubuntu 15.04 .

I am trying to get facebook with pidgin working
again. I installed the purple option/version however
when I go to accounts the only facebook account
option is WITH XMPP.

It is my understanding that there should be a
facebook option WITHOUT XMPP but my
account options do not include a simple
facebook option (just the facebook xmpp).


Please tell me what I am missing?
