Not Authorized Buddies

I have tried for two days now to get pidgin to work with google talk and its
given me the biggest pain. I have followed every direction that I've found
and done everything I could possibly think of and my buddy list still shows
every single one as "Not Authorized." I've tried different servers,
different ports, I've tried deleting them and re-adding them, I've tried
(re)Requesting them and nothing happens. Can someone please help me, I've
read everything I could online with no real help.
