Hi Manny,
Since AIM is going away in December, you'll need to look at alternative
protocols if you want to continue to use Pidgin. There's plenty of options
both built-in as well as available as third part plugins at
https://developer.pidgin.im/wiki/ThirdPartyPlugins#AdditionalProtocols
