Pidgin invoked via hyperlink

This is for pidgin on Fedora 30 installed from the F30 repo:

This week I started using Pidgin to join the IETF Jabber rooms.

The IETF agenda had nice hyperlinks (see: 
https://datatracker.ietf.org/meeting/107/agenda.html)

like:

xmpp:privacypass at jabber.ietf.org?join

Of course if you look after the session time, these links go away....

Firefox does not have anyway to process this hyperlink.  Is there some 
plugin that will work?

Of course, I would have to configure that plugin as to what handle to 
use, and if I have multiple xmpp servers, which to use for accessing the 
room...
