 I don't think so. I think there is a general consensus that making it
 configurable is a good idea. I believe there was a recent patch in SF
 trackers to make the colors configurable from the preference. But a
 preferred way would be to make it a gtkrc setting.

 (for the record, I would've liked this configurability in both IMs and
 chats).
