 This RFE was originally opened by Anupam Gupta.

 It would be really nice to have HTTP GET proxy support in addition to HTTP
 CONNECT as the client currently supports. Some proxies that users
 encounter in the field are unable to handle HTTP CONNECT. Providing HTTP
 GET support would enable those users to use the client through the proxy,
 instead of trying to circumvent it via another method (i.e. SOCKS)
