 Wireshark should be available for install from your distribution.  Having
 installed it, run it and do the following:

  * Select Capture | Options from the menu bar.
  * Type the name of your primary network interface (probably eth0 or eth1)
 into the Interface: field.
  * Clear the "Capture packets in promiscuous mode" check box.
  * In the box beside "Capture filter", type {{{tcp port 6667}}}.
  * Push "Start"

 Minimize wireshark and try to log into IRC via Gaim; after it fails,
 return to wireshark and end the capture.  Save it, and post it as an
 attachment to this bug.  (Note that you may have to run wireshark as
 root.)

 Do not identify to nickserv during this process, or use a throwaway
 password, as the password would be captured in the packet dump.
