#230: IRC channel user list does not change own nick to match /nick command
-------------------------------+--------------------------------------------
 Reporter: plyons | Type: defect
   Status: new | Priority: minor
Component: pidgin (gtk) | Version: 2.0
 Keywords: nick irc nickname |
-------------------------------+--------------------------------------------
Using gaim 2.0.0 beta 3.1 on Ubuntu 6.10 Edgy Eft. In IRC, when I type
the command "/nick foo" into an irc chat window, other users see my
nickname change to "foo", but my own name in my user list column does not
change. Nor does my nickname to the left of messages I post to the
channel change for me. Note that this did NOT happen when I was using
 gaim/pidgin 1.x. Basically, here's how it goes.

 1. Log in to a IRC account
 2. Join a chat, using your default nick
 3. Type a message
 4. Type "/nick foo" to change your nick
 5. Others see your nick change, but you don't

#Here my nick was "plyons" and I typed "/nick plyons1"
(01:54:25 PM) You are now known as plyons1
 (01:54:28 PM) plyons: so now
(01:54:32 PM) plyons: I still see plyons
(01:54:38 PM) plyons: but other people in the room see plyons1
